St Mary's Church is a Church of England church on Stoke Road in Cobham, serving the village of Stoke d’Abernon in the Diocese of Guildford. Its origins and surviving medieval fabric place it among Surrey’s oldest churches, and it is protected with Grade I listed status.
Established during the seventh century, the church preserves early masonry along the nave’s southern side. Its Saxon builders incorporated brick, tile and shaped stone taken from Roman structures. A sealed doorway above ground level formerly opened onto a gallery reserved for the local lord. The aisle on the north side was constructed around 1190, followed in about 1240 by a square-ended chancel with a four-section vault. Further additions include the Norbury Chapel, erected around 1490. Among the interior features are a seven-sided walnut pulpit donated in 1620, an oak chest from the medieval period, two brasses to members of the d’Abernon family, and a Danish Frobenius organ installed in 1975.
