About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is the Church of England parish church serving Brandeston in Suffolk. Medieval in origin and built around 1350, it remains the village’s parish church. Its architectural and historic importance is recognised through Grade I listing, a status formally granted in December 1966.
The chancel survives from the early fourteenth century, while the tower was added later in that century. Inside is a Purbeck marble font, together with memorials and bequests associated with the Revett family. Surviving medieval stained glass includes a circular image of St Catherine, as well as fragments depicting a monk and a donor. The church also has links with John Lowes, who became vicar in 1596 and served for more than four decades before being convicted of witchcraft and executed at Bury St Edmunds in 1645.
