About All Saints
All Saints is a Church of England parish church on Ham Lane in Kingston Seymour, Somerset. Dating from around the end of the fourteenth century or the beginning of the fifteenth, it is protected as a Grade I listed building. The parish belongs to the Yatton Moor benefice and Portishead deanery.
An earlier Norman font base survives within the church. Its low-lying setting left it vulnerable during the Bristol Channel flooding of 1607, when water inside rose to about 1.5 metres; a marker records the flood’s highest level. The tower houses six bells, three of which were made in Bristol by the Purdues in 1632. In the churchyard, an octagonal base supports a cross shaft added in 1863. The west window contains glass commemorating the Smyth-Piggot family, renewed to Roland Paul’s design during restoration work in 1917.
