About All Saints' Church
All Saints’ Church is a former Church of England place of worship on Church Lane in Otterhampton, Bridgwater, Somerset, with views across the River Parrett. Protected at Grade II* level, it ceased regular use in March 1988. Responsibility for the building was transferred to the Churches Conservation Trust in August 1989.
The site had a church by the twelfth century, though the present structure is chiefly fourteenth-century work. First named for Saint Peter, it was subsequently dedicated to All Saints. A west tower in the Perpendicular tradition belongs to a later phase. Its four bells hang in a frame made during the Elizabethan period. One bell is from the sixteenth century, while two bear the dates 1617 and 1737. Interior furnishings include a Romanesque baptismal font beneath a Jacobean lid, a screen made in the sixteenth century, and seventeenth-century rails around the communion area.
