About St David's Church
St David’s Church serves the parish of Hubberston, a village beside the Milford Haven Waterway in Pembrokeshire. Located centrally within Hubberston, it is an Anglican place of worship and has been protected at Grade I since 1951.
The church largely dates to the fifteenth century, although an older building may have occupied the site, and its font survives from the thirteenth century. Built from rough stone beneath slate roofing, it has a low vaulted nave and chancel, transepts and a tower at the western end. Notable medieval details include richly decorated clergy seating, a chancel screen with three openings and a recessed space for a tomb. Memorial stones commemorating the Allen family of Gelliswick, dating from the early eighteenth century, are beneath the altar. Repairs were completed in 1866–67, while J. B. Fletcher oversaw enlargement and restoration during 1929–31. Twentieth-century additions include stained glass and renewed stonework around the small western window.
