About St Andrew's Church

St Andrew's Church is an active Anglican parish church on St. Andrew's Road in Old Headington, now within the Oxford suburb of Headington. It belongs to the Church of England and has Grade II* heritage status. The parish followed a Traditional Catholic position in 2010, but by 2024 had adopted a liberal Catholic tradition. Services take place at 8:00 am on Sundays and 10:00 am on Wednesdays.

The present church dates from about 1160 and was constructed in the Norman architectural style. During the 13th century, a tower and an aisle on the southern side were added. Architect J. C. Buckler extended the nave in 1862, forming a significant later alteration to the medieval building.
