St Andrew’s Church is an active evangelical Anglican parish in North Oxford, situated where Linton Road meets Northmoor Road. Its parish covers the district east of Banbury Road towards the Cherwell, between Park Town and Marston Road. Worshippers also come from across Oxford and neighbouring villages.
Opened for worship in 1907, the church was created as residential development spread through northern Oxford. Architect A. R. G. Fenning chose a Romanesque Revival design, arranging the interior around a clerestory-lit nave of four sections, flanked by two aisles. The sanctuary forms a curved apse, with stained-glass depictions from the Bible. At the western end, a rose window rises over a gallery. Financial constraints prevented the proposed campanile from being built, so the structure has a smaller bell housing instead. Growing attendance led to a surrounding entrance addition in the 1980s, providing more offices and improved practical facilities. Work on a more substantial southern extension started in 2014.
