About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is the Church of England parish church for Ingleby Arncliffe in North Yorkshire. It remains the village’s parish church and has held Grade II* listed status since 1966.
Christian worship has taken place on the site since at least Norman times. An earlier, modest building was demolished before the present church was completed in 1821, with masonry and architectural elements from its predecessor incorporated into the new structure. Built of sandstone beneath a Welsh slate roof, the church comprises a nave, chancel, northern vestry and two-stage western tower containing the porch. The tower includes a reused Norman doorway with a rounded arch, while a Perpendicular east window was also transferred from the former building. Inside are the original pulpit and box pews, a simple circular font of uncertain date, and two armoured knight effigies holding hearts.
