About St Chad
St Chad is a Church of England church in Habton, North Yorkshire. Situated in the village of Great Habton, it belongs to the parish centred on St Laurence’s Church at Kirby Misperton. Its Anglican identity and relationship with the wider parish place it within the local Church of England structure.
The church was built in 1884 from plans prepared by architect C. Hodgson Fowler. Its design follows fourteenth-century Gothic architecture, using red brick together with stone. The interior is arranged as a nave and chancel. At one end is a modest wooden bellcote containing one bell. Both the bell and its bellcote underwent restoration in 2015, with the work costing £14,000.
