St Mary’s Church is an active Church of England parish church on Main Road in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. It holds a service each Sunday at 9:00 am and is protected as a Grade II* listed building.
The church has early origins, with its circular western tower and adjoining masonry believed to pre-date the Norman Conquest. Built from flint, the tower has a lead-covered roof and narrow openings at belfry level. Norman and later medieval work includes a north entrance and a fifteenth-century chancel arch. After the building deteriorated during the early eighteenth century, repairs were undertaken before Frederick Preedy directed an extensive reconstruction in 1870. Notable furnishings include medieval glass from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, a Norman Barnack-stone font carved with twelve seasonal rural scenes, and a carved altarpiece made by Walter Tapper in 1932.
