About St Peter's Church, Threekingham
St Peter’s Church, Threekingham is a Church of England church in the Sleaford area of Lincolnshire. Dedicated to St Peter ad Vincula, or St Peter in Chains, it is protected as a Grade I listed building, a status granted in February 1967.
A Saxon place of worship stood on the site by 1086, before Norman rebuilding began around 1170. The church dates principally from the medieval period, with the doorway and porch attributed to about 1310. Beside the porch, a turret sundial records its gift in 1688 by Edmond Hutchinson. Inside are three tombs from the 14th century, including one commemorating John, a former lord of Threekingham. The spire underwent restoration in 1872.
