About Heckington Methodist Church
Heckington Methodist Church is an active place of worship in Heckington, within North Kesteven, Lincolnshire. It belongs to the Sleaford Methodist circuit, with worship held each Sunday at 10.30 am. The premises also accommodate a range of social activities.
Methodist worship in the village dates back to a Wesleyan chapel opened in 1809. A replacement followed on Saint Andrew’s Street in 1835. Work on the present church began in 1904, and the building was completed in 1905. Albert Edward Lambert, an architect based in Nottingham, prepared the design, while Nottingham firm T. Barlow and Co. carried out the construction. The project cost approximately £2,250 at the time.
