About All Saints Church, Theddlethorpe
All Saints Church, Theddlethorpe is a redundant Anglican church in Theddlethorpe All Saints, around three miles north-east of Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. This Grade I listed building is now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust.
Originating in the 12th century, the church was altered around 1380–1400 and again during the late 17th century, before undergoing modest repairs in 1865–66. It became redundant in 1973. Built mainly from greenstone and limestone rubble, with some brick patching, it has lead roofs, aisles, a clerestoried nave, chancel, porch and four-stage western tower. Inside are carved Norman stone fragments, a 15th-century screen and font, medieval altar slabs and pieces of 15th-century stained glass. Other notable features include 16th-century pews, a carved oak pulpit from the 17th century, an altar donated in 1717, and memorials dating from the 15th to the 18th centuries.
