About All Saints Church
All Saints Church is a former Church of England place of worship near Louth in Lincolnshire, standing at the south-western edge of Haugham and west of the A16. Now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust, it has been redundant since 1981 and is protected as a Grade II* listed building.
Designed by William Adams Nicholson, the church replaced an earlier building and was constructed from 1837 to 1840. Its rendered brick and green sandstone walls support slate roofs, while the compact layout includes a nave, chancel, south porch and western tower. An octagonal spire, elaborate pinnacles and traceried battlements distinguish the exterior. Inside are Victorian pews, choir furnishings and stained glass, including a representation of Holman Hunt’s The Light of the World. Earlier survivals include a fifteenth-century octagonal font and a smaller font or stoup, while memorials date from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
