About All Saints Parish Church
All Saints Parish Church serves the Anglican community in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, within the district of West Lindsey. The church continues to function as a parish place of worship and is protected at Grade I, the highest category of listed building in England.
A medieval tower, dating to about 1350, is the sole surviving element of the previous structure. Between 1736 and 1744, the remainder was reconstructed, incorporating this older tower into the new building. Francis Smith of Warwick is credited with the eighteenth-century design. The resulting church therefore brings together a fourteenth-century remnant and the work of a major rebuilding project completed roughly four centuries later.
