About All Saints
All Saints is a Church of England parish church at Barrowby, around two miles west of Grantham in Lincolnshire. Standing on elevated ground above the Vale of Belvoir, it serves the parish of Barrowby and Great Gonerby and is protected as a Grade I listed building.
A church at Barrowby was recorded in the Domesday survey, while substantial parts of the present building date from the 13th century. Constructed from dressed limestone and ironstone, it has slate roofs, a Decorated Gothic tower, an octagonal spire and six bells. Notable features include a medieval priest’s doorway, a 15th-century porch with stone seating, an elaborately pierced octagonal font and historic memorial brasses. Medieval glass and furnishings were lost during the Reformation. Later work included repairs to the roof and spire, replacement stained glass, choir stalls and a new organ during the 19th century.
