About Moor Park Methodist Church
Moor Park Methodist Church stands on Garstang Road in Preston, Lancashire. Formerly a place of Methodist worship, it closed in 1984 and is now protected with Grade II listed status.
Designed by Poulton and Woodman, the church was constructed in 1861–62 and opened on 26 June 1862, with seating for around 900 people. Its restrained Italianate design uses brick above a stone base, with sandstone details and slate roofing. The entrance features a curved portico supported by square columns, while a pediment, arched windows and a circular opening complete the frontage. Inside, a horseshoe-shaped gallery rests on octagonal columns of cast iron.
