About All Saints Church, West Stourmouth

All Saints Church, West Stourmouth is a Church of England church in West Stourmouth, near Ramsgate in Kent. Now redundant, it has been maintained by the Churches Conservation Trust since ceasing regular use in 1979. The building is listed at Grade I for its exceptional historic and architectural importance.

Much of the structure is Anglo-Saxon, dating from around 1050, with further work carried out during the late 1100s. Following earthquake damage in 1382, the church was rebuilt, while several windows were renewed during the 14th and 15th centuries. Flint walls, stone detailing and tiled roofs frame a nave, aisles, chancel, southern porch and western tower. The weatherboarded tower has a shingled spire and substantial brick supports added in the 17th century. Inside are a 1472 brass, pieces of medieval stained glass, Jacobean choir furnishings, an octagonal pulpit, box pews and the royal arms of George III.
