About All Saints Church
All Saints Church is a Church of England parish church in East Sutton, Kent. Dating from the early 12th century, it is protected as a Grade I listed building.
Built from a mixture of coursed masonry and rubble, the church has tiled roofs over its nave and chancel. Its layout includes a south aisle and several chapels, while the west tower was added in the 15th century and features battlements, gargoyles and a stair turret. Medieval elements include 13th-century arcades, a piscina, carved screens and an early 16th-century timber roof in the north chancel chapel. Surviving wall paintings depict subjects including Saint Michael, crucifixion scenes, and Dives and Lazarus. Grisaille glass is found in the chancel, with commemorative stained glass in the St Leger Chapel. The interior was altered between 1956 and 1963, followed by restoration work during the 1980s.
