Old High Church stands on Church Street in Inverness, overlooking the River Ness. Historically the town church and home to Inverness’s oldest congregation, it belongs to the Church of Scotland tradition and is protected as a Category A listed building. Regular services there ceased in January 2022, with Sunday worship moving to St Stephen’s Church. The building was sold to the charity Save Old High Inverness in August 2025.
Worship has taken place on the site since the Celtic period, and the congregation associates its beginnings with St Columba, who introduced Christianity to Inverness. Most of the present church dates to the eighteenth century. Its notable features include an organ made by Father Willis, which underwent restoration in 2010. In 2003, the Old High congregation joined with St Stephen’s, although both churches initially continued to be used for services.
