About St Deiniol's Church

St Deiniol’s Church is a former church at Ynyscynhaearn in Gwynedd, Wales. The Grade II listed building is no longer used for worship, having closed in 1988. It has since been adapted to provide residential flats.

Constructed from 1884 to 1887, the church was designed by the Chester architectural practice Douglas and Fordham. Its cross-shaped layout incorporated a nave of six bays, a three-bay chancel and sanctuary, transepts to the north and south, and a porch on the southern side. A modest spire rose above wide, shallow broaches. Although the architects intended to include a tower at the western end, this element of the design was not completed.
