About St Thomas More Church, Dulwich
St Thomas More Church, Dulwich is a Roman Catholic church on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, within London’s Greater London area. It continues to serve as a Catholic place of worship in the capital.
Joseph Goldie designed the church, which was built in 1929. Following damage sustained during the war, the building underwent restoration in 1953, and a Lady Chapel was added in 1970. Among its notable works are stained-glass designs by Patrick Pye and a Madonna and Child sculpture in the Lady Chapel by Freda Skinner. The altar and reredos were transferred from the former chapel at the Jesuit college of Hales Place, close to Canterbury in Kent.
