About St John the Baptist's Church, East Ham
St John the Baptist's Church, East Ham was an Anglican place of worship in East Ham, London, dedicated to John the Baptist. It no longer survives, having been demolished in 1925 after serving the local community in several roles over almost sixty years.
The church was erected in 1866 to provide an additional place of worship connected with St Mary Magdalene's, which remained East Ham's principal parish church at that time. In 1902, the building ceased to function as a church and was adapted for use as the hall belonging to the newly established St Bartholomew's Church. It continued in that capacity until its demolition twenty-three years later.
