St Mary & St Hugh, Old Harlow serves as an active Church of England parish church in the Churchgate Street area of Harlow, Essex. It is also protected as a Grade II listed building, a designation awarded on 5 July 1950 in recognition of its architectural and historic significance.
Dating back to the medieval period, the church is arranged on a cross-shaped ground plan. At the intersection of its main sections stands a central tower, crowned by a tall broach spire clad in shingles. Architect Henry Woodyer oversaw an extensive restoration of the entire building between 1878 and 1880. Its medieval beginnings, cruciform layout and prominent tower and spire remain the principal features described in its architectural history.
