The Church of St Paul Including Attached Bell Tower, Church Hall, Flat Raised Pavement And Steps stands in Harlow, Essex, and serves the Church of England. Conceived as Harlow New Town’s principal Anglican church, it is recognised for its post-war design and has been protected at Grade II since 2007.

Derrick Humphrys and Reginald Hurst drew up the plans, with building work undertaken from 1957 until 1959 and interior completion continuing through 1961. Its brown brick structure incorporates concrete window framing, extensive glazing and a copper-clad spirelet above the crossing. An elevated walkway connects the building with its detached bell tower, whose bells came from an East London church harmed during wartime bombing. Within, contrasting red, blue and gold ceilings mark different areas. Significant artworks include a Virgin Mary sculpture dating from the 1500s and John Piper’s large mosaic of the recognition of Christ at Emmaus.
