About Holy Trinity Church, Hove
Holy Trinity Church, Hove is a former Anglican place of worship in Hove, East Sussex. Closed for worship in 2007 and formally declared redundant the following year, it has served as a medical centre since 2017. The church is protected at Grade II for its historical and architectural interest.
Designed by local architect James Woodman, the church was founded to accommodate Hove’s growing Anglican population and consecrated in 1864. Its principal materials are red brick and stone, with contrasting details in yellow and black brick. The original nave, chancel, chapels and southern aisle were joined by a three-stage battlemented tower in 1866, although its intended spire was not built. A northern aisle followed in 1868. Notable features include an outdoor pulpit dating from 1912, stained-glass windows, a west gallery, an 1883 organ and a font fashioned from Caen stone and Sicilian marble.
