About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is the Church of England parish church serving Catton, in the York area of the East Riding of Yorkshire. It remains in use as a parish church and has held Grade I listed status since 1967.
Its origins date to about 1150, with part of an early transept still preserved. The aisles developed from the 13th century onwards, while much of the three-stage south-west tower belongs to the 15th century. After being recorded as dilapidated in 1676, the church underwent repairs, followed by substantial restoration under G. E. Street from 1859 to 1866. A porch was added during the same century. Interior features include a medieval font, a piscina bowl dating from the 1100s and an east window containing glass by William Morris.
