About Holy Trinity Church And Lamp House Immediately South West
Holy Trinity Church And Lamp House Immediately South West stands in Penponds, Camborne, Cornwall. It serves as a Church of England parish church and has Grade II listed protection. Designed by James Piers St Aubyn, the church shares a benefice with the Anglican churches of St Martin and St Meriadoc in Camborne and All Saints in Tuckingmill.
Consecration took place on 16 May 1854, led by Exeter’s bishop. Extensive changes followed late in the nineteenth century. The chancel and vestry were finished during 1897, with renovation of the nave, aisle and porch completed two years later. A new baptistry featured oak carving that marked the congregation’s inaugural confirmation, held in December 1898. Hancock of Bodmin supplied the pulpit in 1901. Canon James Sims Carah planned a screen added in 1925, with its carving and construction undertaken by Plymouth craftsman J. B. Hunt. Clayton and Bell designed windows fitted between 1907 and 1933. In 1901, an existing organ was brought from Camborne’s Lowenac House.
