About Trinity Wesleyan Methodistchurch
Trinity Wesleyan Methodistchurch stands in Adamsdown, Cardiff. This Grade II listed former Methodist church is now known as the Trinity Centre. Methodist worship in the building ended in 2013, but it continues to serve as a support centre operated by the Welsh Refugee Council and as a place of worship for the Mar Thoma Syrian Church.
Albert Victor Ingall & Sons of Birmingham designed and built the church in 1896–97 for the United Methodist Free Churches, replacing a chapel on Guildford Crescent. It was initially called Newport Road United Methodist Free Church. In 1950, congregations from Roath Road and Broadway joined it, and the church was renamed Trinity Methodist Church. Wyn Thomas & Partners carried out substantial alterations in 1978, dividing the interior horizontally. By the early 2010s, maintaining the building had become increasingly difficult.
