The Methodist Church in Britain grew from the eighteenth-century revival led by John and Charles Wesley, whose open-air preaching reshaped British Christianity. Methodists emphasise personal faith, hymn singing and practical service to their neighbourhoods. The church has around 130,000 members and several thousand chapels and churches across Great Britain.
