About Bromsgrove Baptist Church
Bromsgrove Baptist Church is a Baptist place of worship on New Road in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. The church has Grade I listed status, recognising its particular historic and architectural importance.
Its origins date to the 12th century, although much of the surviving structure was created during the 14th and 15th centuries. George Gilbert Scott oversaw restoration work in 1858. Historic features include alabaster memorials from the 13th and early 16th centuries, together with an alabaster figure dated 1517 in the chancel. Bells were documented by the 1690s, while a clock was mentioned in 1684. The church also contains a pipe organ developed through several alterations from an instrument installed in 1808, and a substantial metal memorial commemorating Bromsgrove residents who died during the First World War.
