St Andrew is an active Church of England parish and civic church on Church Street in central Rugby, Warwickshire. It follows the liberal Catholic tradition and belongs to the Major Churches Network. The church is protected at Grade II* and holds Sunday services at 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.
A church was recorded nearby in 1140, with Rugby becoming a separate parish in 1221. The present building dates from the thirteenth or fourteenth century, although substantial Victorian enlargement transformed it. William Butterfield directed the principal rebuilding in 1877–79, retaining the medieval west tower and north arcade; Ewan Christian completed further work in 1895–96. Built externally in pale Bath stone with slate roofing, the church has a richly coloured interior, a painted ceiling and stained glass by Clayton and Bell. Its two towers both contain bells, an uncommon arrangement, while the castle-like west tower is regarded as Rugby’s oldest building.
