Christ Church stands in Jubilee Square in Woking, Surrey. It is a Church of England place of worship within Guildford Diocese and is protected at Grade II. The present building, completed in 1908, occupies a site used by the congregation since Woking expanded considerably during the later nineteenth century.
Early gatherings met in a room behind a shop, which became inadequate as attendance increased. By 1877, worshippers had moved to a purpose-built hall on the site, called the Iron Room, with space for roughly 400 people. Continued pressure on capacity prompted plans for a permanent church in 1885. Building commenced in 1887, when the Duchess of Albany placed the inaugural stone. Worship began there at the start of 1889, although construction continued until the transepts and morning chapel were added in 1908. Later changes brought a bookshop and café, and a programme of extension and refurbishment commenced in August 2026.
