United Reformed Church stands on Queens Road in Weybridge, Surrey, close to York Road. This Victorian, Grade II listed building served the town’s United Reformed congregation until 2022. That year, the Weybridge and Walton-on-Thames congregations combined, with worship moving to St Andrew’s premises in Walton. The Weybridge church is therefore no longer used for services.
Congregational worship in Weybridge began in 1860 through the efforts of local resident Benjamin Scott. Growing attendance led him to acquire the site and support the construction of a permanent church. Designed by John Tarring in the Decorated Gothic Revival style, the cross-shaped building has a prominent spire and opened in 1865. A gallery was installed in 1886. For the centenary in 1965, the interior was extensively rearranged, including a new pulpit and lectern, while the organ casing was relocated. The congregation adopted the United Reformed name in 1972.
