About St Peter's Church

St Peter’s Church is a Church of England parish church on Ritherdons Lane in Langford Budville, near Wellington in Somerset. It belongs to the Wellington and District benefice in the Tone deanery and is protected as a Grade I listed building.

Dating from the fifteenth century, the church is constructed from red sandstone and accommodates around 150 people. Its tower was built in 1509, followed soon afterwards by the south aisle. Restoration took place in 1846, while a northern aisle was created in 1866 for worshippers associated with Binden House. A vestry and space for the organ followed in 1873. The tower contains five bells, rehung during 1990s renovations that also addressed the roof and masonry. A brass plaque within the church serves as a war memorial.
