About Kinfauns Parish Church
Kinfauns Parish Church stands in Kinfauns, near Perth in the Perth and Kinross council area of Scotland. It belongs to the Church of Scotland and dates from 1869. Protected at Category C, the building is no longer the congregation’s usual place of worship, as its members have relocated to the newer Madoch Centre.
Architects Andrew Heiton and John Murray Robertson were responsible for the nineteenth-century building. Close by are the remains of an older place of worship constructed during the fifteenth century, before the Reformation. That ruin occupies ground previously used for a chapel associated with Scone Abbey, whose presence there was recorded in 1226. The burial ground is also listed and includes the grave of Sir Denys Lowson, the first Baronet, who died in 1975.
