About St James's Church, Manorbier
St James’s Church, Manorbier is an active parish church in the Pembrokeshire village of Manorbier, Wales. It belongs to the Anglican tradition and is protected at Grade I, recognising its exceptional historic and architectural significance.
Founded in the early twelfth century, the church has undergone substantial changes during its long history. Its chancel was constructed around 1250 over earlier foundations, and the transepts were added at roughly the same time. Architectural features include a narrow tower characteristic of the area and a bellcote. Medieval painted decoration remains visible on the porch ceiling. The churchyard contains three military graves from the period between 1918 and 1920, which are maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
