Woodstock Road Baptist Church is an evangelical congregation at 198 Woodstock Road in Summertown, Oxford. It belongs to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and holds services each Sunday. The church emphasises biblical teaching, with home groups meeting in and around Oxford during most weeks and a monthly gathering for prayer.
The congregation began after worshippers led by the Revd J. H. Moore had gathered outdoors, and its building opened in 1897. Named Victoria Hall in recognition of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, the original structure was built in white brick with stone details and accommodated about 100 people. A timber western wall allowed for future enlargement. During the 1930s, a brick-sided extension with a metal roof was added and later made more permanent, increasing capacity to roughly 200. Renovation closures took place in 2012 and from 2013 into 2014, with the church reopening on 2 April 2014.
