About Forest Road Primitive Methodist Church
Forest Road Primitive Methodist Church is a former Primitive Methodist place of worship on Forest Road in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. The building was subsequently acquired by the Nottingham Christadelphians, marking a later change in its religious use and ownership. It remains associated with the road on which it was erected and with Nottingham’s nineteenth-century Nonconformist history.
The church dates from 1874 and was designed by Nottingham architect Richard Charles Sutton. Its construction cost was approximately £3,000. Although the building was erected during that year, a decline in the local economy delayed its full completion for more than a decade. The available history records no specific architectural style, building materials, major restoration, tower, stained glass, monuments, organ or bells.
