About Dales Church
Dales Church is a United Reformed church on Parkdale Road in the Bakersfield area of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Its present name reflects the union of two local congregations and its place within the United Reformed Churches.
The church was completed in 1930 and began as Parkdale Congregational Church. It formed part of a programme developed during the 1920s and 1930s by a Nottinghamshire Congregational extension committee, which sought to establish churches for Nottingham’s growing housing estates. Related congregations were also founded at Sherwood and Lenton Abbey. During the 1970s, the congregation became part of the United Reformed Church. In 1986, it united with Albion Congregational Church in Sneinton Dale and adopted the name Dales United Reformed Church.
