Saint Cuthbert’s Church is a Church of England church in Hexham, Northumberland. Dating from the medieval period, it is protected as a Grade I listed building, a status granted in 1951.
The church has 13th-century origins and survived the destructive raids associated with the Border Reivers. It underwent substantial rebuilding in 1609, followed by restoration in 1865, when a bellcote was installed at the west end. Its plan includes a six-bay nave, a chancel and a notably spacious southern chapel. The nave is covered by a stone barrel vault supported by fifteen ribs, with Lakeland slate arranged in alternating bands of different thicknesses. Other features include lancet windows, a medieval chancel arch and substantial stone buttresses. Three cannonballs discovered in the roof during 19th-century work may relate to an attack on Bellingham in 1597. The churchyard also contains the Lang Pack tomb, connected with a local tale about an attempted robbery at Lee Hall.
