St Mary the Virgin is an active Church of England parish church in Rushden, Northamptonshire. The church is protected at Grade I, recognising its exceptional historic and architectural importance. Regular services are held on Monday at 6.00 pm, Tuesday at 4.00 pm, Thursday at 10.00 am and Saturday at 1.00 pm.
The present building dates from around 1220, when it was established under a charter granted by Henry III. Its tower was finished about 1250, while the richly carved western porch followed later in the 13th century. Medieval alterations included enlarging the northern aisle, renewing the nave arches and creating a Lady Chapel. A clerestory and shallow roof were added in the early 1400s. The 53-metre spire and part of the tower fell in 1631 but were soon rebuilt. Inside are 15th-century choir stalls with misericords and an ornate brass memorial to Laurence St Maur, who died in 1337. The tower houses ten bells, including two added in 2014.
