About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is the Church of England parish church serving West Heslerton in North Yorkshire. Now protected as a Grade II listed building, it received its designation in 1966. The church was previously dedicated to Saint Andrew.
Originating in the 13th century, the church is constructed from sandstone and roofed with slate. Its plan includes a nave, north aisle, chancel and vestry, with a bellcote above the western gable and a cross at the eastern end. Part of the chancel was reconstructed in 1859, followed by an extensive restoration under C. Hodgson Fowler in 1886, leaving the chancel as the principal surviving early section. Medieval details include lancet windows and an Easter Sepulchre from around 1300. The east window contains glass by Charles Eamer Kempe, while other windows feature work by Clayton and Bell and Rosemary Rutherford. Interior fittings include an octagonal font, a piscina and several memorials.
