T. D. Barry and Sons designed the Gothic Revival building, which was erected in 1870–71 using sandstone rubble and banded slate roofing. Inside, polished granite piers support the nave arcades, and carved foliage decorates their capitals. The altar and reredos date from 1908 and feature painted angels. The stained glass includes a late Victorian window by Reuben Bennett and a First World War memorial depicting Saint George. Carved choir fittings incorporate the organ case.
