About St Botolphs

St Botolphs is a Church of England parish church on Town Road in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, serving Quarrington and Old Sleaford. Dedicated to St Botolph and accommodating around 124 people, the church remains in parish use. Its architectural and historic importance is recognised through its Grade II* designation.

Christian worship at Quarrington was established by 1086, while the earliest visible fabric is from the thirteenth century. Much of the building was reconstructed during the fourteenth century, including the west tower and spire. The nave leads into a north aisle and an eastern chancel, with a chapel to the north. Inside, three arcaded bays contribute to the unusually tall proportions. Distinctive window tracery includes hexagonal forms and pointed trefoils. Charles Kirk the Younger restored the church in 1862–63 and built the polygonal-ended chancel as a memorial to his parents, with windows produced by Ward and Hughes.
