About St. Andrew
St Andrew is a Church of England church on Church Lane in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. It holds Grade I listed status and belongs to the Parish of South Lafford, within the Diocese of Lincoln. The churchyard includes the graves of two soldiers from the First World War.
The church dates from the later 12th century and was substantially finished by the close of the 15th century. Its chancel is chiefly Early English in character, while the arcades display early Decorated Gothic work. A Norman pier marks a former entrance to a chantry chapel. Restorations took place in 1825, 1858 and 1860. Historic stocks and a whipping post survive on the south side. In 2006, strong winds brought down two pinnacles, with one striking the roof and causing damage that cost more than £100,000 to repair.
