About Bispham Parish Church

Bispham Parish Church is an active Anglican place of worship in Bispham, Blackpool, Lancashire. Dedicated to All Hallows, it serves within Blackburn Diocese and Blackpool Deanery. Its churchmanship is Conservative Evangelical, with episcopal care provided through the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. The building has Grade II protection and has long been regarded as Blackpool’s mother church.

Religious use of the site can be traced to 1189, while the current structure is its third church. Completed in limestone during 1883, it replaced an unsafe red sandstone building that was taken down. Its restrained Early English design includes a five-bay nave, transepts flanking the chancel and a tower on the south-west side. Archaeological finds made during construction included a piscina of Saxon origin and chevron-carved Norman stone. Pieces of this earlier masonry were set into the zodiac frieze over the interior doorway on the southern side.
