About All Saints Church, Staplehurst

All Saints Church, Staplehurst is a Church of England parish church at the southern end of the village, beside the High Street and A229. It remains the local parish church and is protected as a Grade I listed building.

Founded during the 12th century, the church was largely constructed across the 12th and 13th centuries. Work on the west tower began around 1425. Its south doorway is believed to be 12th-century and retains fine early iron fittings. Ten bells hang in the tower, ranging in date from 1605 to 1996; a steel bell frame was fitted when the two newest bells were added. The clock dates from 1888. Six stained-glass windows made in 1952 include heraldic designs and emblems in the north chapel and aisle, together with a Nativity scene.
