St Catherine’s stands on Church Street in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. It remains an active Anglican parish church and is protected as a Grade II listed building. It forms part of a local grouping with Holy Trinity, Ventnor, and both St Boniface churches in Bonchurch. Worship is held each Sunday at 10.45 am, while Café Church meets monthly on the first Sunday. The Hub coffee shop operates on weekday and Saturday mornings.
Robert Ebbels designed the original building, which was completed in 1837 for £4,655. John Hambrough, associated with Steephill Castle, financed its construction. The chancel followed in 1849, and a southern aisle enlarged the church in 1897. Among its features is a pipe organ built by James Jepson Binns. The churchyard contains the grave of Windsor Dudley Cecil Hambrough of Steephill, who was killed in the Ardlamont House murder and interred there in 1893.
