About Church of the Good Shepherd

The Church of the Good Shepherd is a Church of England parish church in Lake, within Sandown on the Isle of Wight. Standing on Sandown Road, it remains a parish church and is recognised for its architectural significance through its designation as a Grade II listed building.

Completed in 1892, the church was designed by Temple Lushington Moore. Its unusual plan includes a nave flanked by two aisles, while the chancel has only one aisle. The stained-glass windows are mid-20th-century works by Francis Skeat. A compact pipe organ with three manuals was built in 1901 by J. W. Walker & Sons Ltd. These features reflect both the church’s late Victorian origins and additions made during the following century.
